About Garrison House
Located in the heart of Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae, Garrison House is a treasured landmark with a rich history dating back to 1745. Originally built as the residence for the Captain and officers of the Earl of Glasgow’s Revenue Cutter Service, the building has stood proudly for centuries and today serves as a key part of the local community.
The house was extensively restored in the early 2000s after a devastating fire and continues to be maintained to the highest standards as a Grade B listed building, protected for its architectural and historic importance.
